20Five Magazine is committed to publishing accurate, useful and responsibly produced journalism focused primarily on the United Arab Emirates.

This policy explains how we select, research, write, review and update our editorial content.

Our Editorial Mission

20Five Magazine covers the people, ideas, organisations, experiences and developments shaping the UAE.

Our principal areas of coverage include:

• Business and entrepreneurship
• Technology and innovation
• Restaurants, cafés and hotels
• Lifestyle and experiences
• Conferences, exhibitions, concerts and major events
• Evidence-based opinion and analysis

Approximately 90% of our coverage focuses on the UAE. Important GCC stories may be covered when they have clear regional significance or value for our audience.

Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are made according to relevance, accuracy, public value and reader interest.

Advertising relationships, partnerships, invitations, gifts or commercial arrangements must not determine the conclusions of our editorial coverage.

Sponsored or paid content must be clearly identified and must not be presented as independent journalism.

Accuracy and Verification

Accuracy takes priority over speed.

Before publication, factual claims should be verified using reliable sources such as:

• UAE government entities
• Official company statements
• Regulatory authorities
• Event organisers
• Direct interviews
• Original documents and datasets
• Established and reputable news organisations

Where practical, important claims should be confirmed through more than one source.

Rumours, anonymous social-media claims and unverified screenshots must not be presented as established fact.

Sources and Attribution

20Five Magazine attributes information to its original or most authoritative source whenever appropriate.

We do not copy articles or disguise copied reporting through superficial rewriting. External reporting may be used as a research source, but every 20Five article must add context, explanation, analysis or original value.

Direct quotations must be accurate and clearly attributed.

Government and Public-Interest Coverage

20Five takes a constructive and forward-looking approach to covering the UAE.

We highlight national achievements, innovation, economic progress, public services and initiatives that improve life in the Emirates.

A positive editorial perspective must never require the omission or distortion of material facts. Accuracy and transparency remain mandatory.

Reviews and Recommendations

Restaurant, hotel, destination and experience coverage must clearly distinguish between:

• Independent editorial coverage
• Hosted or complimentary experiences
• Sponsored partnerships
• Advertiser-provided information

Receiving complimentary access does not guarantee positive coverage.

Recommendations should be based on genuine editorial judgement and useful information for readers.

Opinions

Opinion articles represent the analysis or perspective of the named author and do not necessarily represent every view held by 20Five Magazine.

Opinion content must be clearly labelled and must distinguish factual reporting from interpretation.

Artificial Intelligence

AI tools may support research, organisation, drafting, optimisation, transcription and content production.

AI-generated material must not be published without editorial review.

Human oversight is required to verify:

AI must never invent interviews, quotations, sources, experiences or facts.

Corrections and Updates

When a material factual error is identified, 20Five Magazine will correct it as quickly and transparently as reasonably possible.
